Tents (Friday at 10) and Marshalls (Saturday & Sunday at 9:30)

Just a quick reminder that we’ll be putting up the tents tomorrow (Friday) starting at 10am and hopefully finishing by 11:30. Please come along if you are available.

I have also attached details of how we will organise crews at the start this year.  Can all start marshals please read over this before Saturday?

Can I ask everyone who is down on the rota to be a start marshal to come to the event briefing at 9:30 each morning and then stay behind after that so that we can allocate people to marshalling groups and answer any questions you may have on the marshalling plan?
Thanks
Dave

Regatta Rota

Hello Everyone

The Rota for Jobs for our upcoming Regatta weekend is attached.

As you can see everyone that has let me know they can help out has a job (perhaps even 2) – if anyone has been missed come and see me first thing Saturday Morning and I will give you something to do (no need to feel shy).

If there are any parents / juniors available and are at a loose end come to regatta control at any point and we can find you a task, many hands make light work.

Please bring your lovely cakes tray bakes sandwiches filled rolls etc to the Tea Tent first thing each morning, if you can spare ½ an hour make yourself known to the Tent Folk and they can then fit you in to help out.

Remember to wrap up warmly, put on your smiley welcoming faces – they are great for all to see 😉

See you all Saturday,

Hazel G

Ps. Friday Morning Crew see you all at 10am sharp – to put up the Tents

Planning for a successful event!

Tea Tent Donations – please bring your scrummy cakes, filled up sandwiches etc etc to the Tea Tent first thing Saturday 16th from 9am.

Jobs Rota

Hello Everyone

Please find attached a rough Rota for the event this weekend. If I’ve missed anyone that has volunteered please just come and fill in the gaps.

If I’ve given you a task you are not sure about, please ask someone who has been involved before and they will help & point you in the right direction.

A few names have been pencilled into the Tea Tent Rota – however I am looking for anyone feeling generous with their time to step in and help when able.

I think that the tent will be under siege and all hands Young & Old are needed and welcomed.

If I forget to say to everyone here is my THANK YOU (IN ADVANCE)

Hazel G

Inverness Rowing Club Regatta weekend, 10th & 11th November 2018

The poster for this event is available at http://www.invernessrowing.club

All members will be allocated tasks to ensure the event weekend runs safely and well.

If you wish to RACE at any point over the weekend then you will assist our club, no offer of help NO RACING. This will be enforced at time of entry.

This will apply to all ages and no matter how long you have been a member of or club, newest members this could be your first racing experience let’s make it a great one.

We of course try to work around people’s commitments but as you know the events we hold rely on volunteers and everyone’s goodwill let’s not lose sight of that but don’t be shy – please OFFER.

Dates for your Diary  BRIEFING MEETINGS

*Juniors & Parents* – arrive ½ hour early to your training session Saturday 3rd November – to be briefed.

*Seniors* – Sunday 4th November – again arrive ½ hour before allocated training time 2nd session – to be briefed.

Aberdeen Sprint

The draw for Saturday’s sprint is now available at www.cofd.co.uk – racing from 11am onwards.

Can those racing please confirm availability on the new club calendar for boat loading at 6pm on Friday?

Aberdeen Sprint 25th August

The club is thinking of travelling through to Aberdeen for the sprint races on the 25th August and the two day regatta in October planned for 27th and 28th.
If there is interest we can perhaps haul the trailer through otherwise it might be car topping some boats, give it some thought and let Robert know if you might be interested.
Details will be published on the Committee of the Dee website in due course (www.cofd.co.uk).  Last years results are on that site which will give you some idea of what is involved – it’s good fun day and doesn’t require an overnight other than if you were to compete both days in October.
